Overview:
Designed to give Comstar a new avenue of obtaining Chevaliers since their loss of Terra, the PRI engineers once again went out of their way with this vehicle. Like the Beowulf and Pinto before it, this vehicle was designed to look exactly like the original in all respects.

Capabilities:
First of all, the engineers increased the armor up to seven tonnes, a minimal increase, but enough to give her crews a bit more comfort. They left the Blakenburg laser on the turret alone, but ripped out the twin Streak 2s the first chance they got. In their places, they installed a four point Cruncher-C Streak 6 system.

Custom-made for the Chevalier, this system is made in four self-contained pods, along with the actual loading mechanism. All four points take their ammunition from the common bay and their location means they can use the same runs as the original missiles did. The largest two pods are designed to look exactly like the two pods known to be on a Chevalier. The other two, smaller pods, are designed to fit beneath the primary pods.

Placed under what were maintenance hatches for the original, they are designed to flip up to be available to fire when the gunner wishes. An interlock stops them from firing if the trigger is pulled and they have not been raised. Unfortunately, the placement of the secondary pods makes it harder to service the engine and other systems on the tank, so PRI technicians performed an emergency fix to make them detachable. Only five minutes is required to unlock them from their position and no special tools are required.

PRI technicians left the RT 190 fusion engine alone in their retrofit, but did replace her targeting and tracking system with the successful Talk & Trac 10. Like the Pinto, it gives the crew increased targeting and battlefield awareness, an important thing in battle. [+1 bonus to gunnery at all times and +1 bonus to initiative when leading a unit.]

Interestingly enough, the introduction of the Talk & Trac 10 allowed the technicians to perform a final, unanticipated improvement to the Chevalier. With the newer system taking far less room then the ancient systems she replaced, they found themselves able to move interior walls outward a bit, giving the crew a less-cramped space to live in.

According to information we have uncovered, this has resulted in rave reviews from every crew to try out this vehicle. We wonder what they will say when they run out of ammunition nearly two minutes earlier then usual in a desperate battle though.

Deployment
According to reports, the Com Guard's Thirty-first Division (The Lost Boys) is testing these vehicles. Despite the grumbling that it doesn't match the speed of their refitted Chevaliers, they appear to love the better interior and respect the extra armor and weaponry.

As with the Pinto, we can only hope they don't begin using this vehicle as it could be a rude surprise for any of our units unlucky enough to be surprised by the greater range and firepower of her Streak system.
