Overview:
Shown to observers mere days after the first Viking came off the line in May of 3061, this 'Mech is very similar to all earlier Flashmans. The Eleventh 'Mech of the Dirty Dozen, it is the last refit job of this first batch that PRI is planning. Everything the engineers learned in these massive rebuilding campaigns then went into trying to figure out how to make the Serra-Pryde PR3 class 'Mech a reality.

Capabilities:
The only true difference between this version of the Flashman and her earlier cousins is the removal of her old Ichiba 3000 laser arrays in favor of the new FarStar-C laser systems. This gives the Flashman increased range and damage profiles, but unfortunately results in heat going through the roof when the FarStars are fired in tandem with the Selitex large lasers.

Most pilots tend to fire the FarStars because they generate less heat for the damage they do and have the same reach as the larger lasers, but this tends to make the techs rather annoyed since it is harder to maintain those special lasers. So many pilots who wish to stay in their techs good graces at least TRY to live on the Selitex's slightly better punch-through capability. Unless they are in a real bind and need all the firepower they can manage.


Deployment
Like most Comstar production, Flashmen are sent to the Republic and to the ComGuard, though information trails suggest that the prototype served in a Terra's Pryde company flying Star League colors in the Lyran Alliance as peace keepers before a very nasty battle broke out. Information has become very sketchy about this unit since the end of the Civil War, but we believe it returned to Pryde Rock.
