Overview:

         The standard fleet command ship of the Taurian navy, the new Winchester-class cruisers are the most powerful pure gunboats in the Taurian navy.   Built with the original Winchesters that the Star League destroyed in mind, Taurian engineers built this new ship to be smaller, tougher, and harder to crack.   They succeeded in all three areas and the first Winchesters did well against the Liao invaders.   She is a slow ship, much like the original, and has minimal acceleration compared to other Taurian WarShips, but nimbleness was not her intended strength.   She lays down fire, she blows things up, and she comes back home in one piece.   Winchesters are never sent into battle without a fleet of frigates and AssaultShips to support them as they are far too valuable to be wasted.
         Heavy naval autocannon batteries provide her primary firepower, backed up by laser and missile systems.   She carries an air division of fighters and multiple banks of light particle cannons, extended-ranged missiles, pulse lasers, and anti-missile systems to deal with smaller threats.
         As with all modern Taurian ships, the Winchester has spacious crew quarters and large communal areas in the two massive grav decks, and enough crew on board to make short work weeks.   Spacers from throughout the Human Sphere have begun to use the Taurian navy as a benchmark for creature comforts.
